When I first started my piano lessons with Musiah, I quickly discovered the pleasure of learning to play piano at my own pace, given my specific life schedule.
During days when I don't have time to work with Musiah, I simply practice quick and easy pieces that I've already learned (either from Musiah or a different source) to keep the muscle memory healthy. And once time permits again, I return to Musiah and pick up where I left off.
There is so much about Musiah that I absolutely love, it's difficult to pick one aspect.
First, I love the small but substantive lessons that Musiah is compartmentalized into, and that build upon each other.
I love the convenient technology available to practice the piece before I audition — from setting the tempo, increasing the size of the notes on the screen (my eyes aren't very good), to the ability to practice pieces down to an individual bar or group of notes.
I also love that I must acquire a minimum number of stars at the end of a level in order to be given the opportunity to audition out of that level. This forces me to return to my lessons and reinforce what I have previously learned. It also serves to challenge me to become sufficiently proficient before continuing to the next level, and I like the challenge of achieving realistically attainable goals.
Musiah is teaching me to enjoy the experience of learning piano without getting caught up with the stress of attempting to produce at an unrealistic level and timeframe.
It also teaches me the technical aspects of music, such as identifying music notes and symbols (something that I would probably neglect if not a part of the curriculum and available within Musiah).
The games available through Musiah are also a great resource. My son, while still very young, already enjoys the challenges that Musiah games provide.
Musiah provides an effective and realistic way to learn piano within the convenience of your home, despite a hectic schedule.
And, when combined with the free trial period available to explore Musiah, there really is no reason not to give it a try.
I most definitely recommend Musiah to family, friends and co-workers.
As you can tell, I am a big fan of Musiah.
